Former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will arrive in Lahore today to put the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in preparation mode for the upcoming general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Both the PPP leaders will head a meeting of the PPP central executive committee (CEC) meeting that will be held tomorrow at 3:00 PM in Bilawal House.
Elections and the party’s position in central Punjab will be part of the agenda of the Lahore meeting.
A discussion on the electoral seats of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will also take place during the meeting.
Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani is likely to get important responsibility in the election committee in southern Punjab.
A report on the PPP government in Sindh and development works will also be presented in the meeting.
Ex-president Asif Ali Zardari will reach Lahore from Karachi while former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will arrive in Lahore from Multan.
The PPP leadership directed all the members of the CEC to reach Lahore.
No CEC member shall participate in the meeting through a video link.
All CEC members were instructed to attend the meeting in person.
