A court in Shikarpur has handed down a historic verdict in a triple murder case, sentencing the accused to 98 years in prison along with a fine of Rs16 lakh, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Additional Sessions Judge Samiullah Qureshi delivered the judgment after finding the accused, Abdul Ghaffar Shar, guilty of murdering three men and injuring a fourth in 2016.
According to details, the convict had killed Allah Jaryo, Shadi Khan, and Hafeez Shar in village Rakhail. He also injured a man identified as Ibrahim Shar.
The court awarded three separate 25-year prison terms for each of the murders, totaling 75 years.
Additionally, Abdul Ghaffar was sentenced to 10 years for injuring Ibrahim Shar, three years for possessing illegal weapons, and further imprisonment in case of non-payment of fines.
The court also ordered the convict to pay Rs5 lakh each to the families of the three deceased and Rs1 lakh as compensation to the injured survivor.
It further ruled that if the fine is not paid, the convict’s property will be confiscated and he will face an additional 10 years in prison.
In total, the sentence amounts to 98 years of imprisonment and Rs16 lakh in fines, marking one of the toughest punishments handed down in the district in recent years.
Following the verdict, the heirs of the victims welcomed the court’s decision, calling it a significant step toward justice after a long legal battle.
