At least six people died and several others were injured in three separate traffic accidents in the Gujrat district on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to rescue and police officials, the first incident occurred near Gorali when a speeding car collided with a rickshaw that had stopped to pick up passengers.
The impact of the crash was fatal, resulting in three deaths.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Zubair, residents of Gotki, who died on the spot. The auto-rickshaw driver, Ashiq, succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
Rescue officials reported that 11 others sustained injuries in the accident, out of which nine were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Reports revealed that the deceased rickshaw driver had come to Gujrat from Rahim Yar Khan in search of work.
Police have registered a case against the car driver at Saddar Police Station.
In a separate incident at Chak Pindi, a motorcycle speeding towards Gujrat from Dinga rammed into a vehicle, killing two young men on the spot.
The victims were identified as Ali Gujar and Faizan Ali, both residents of Mohallah Muslimabad near Karianwala Chowk.
The two were traveling from Dinga to the city of Gujarat at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, in another fatal mishap near Channan, a poultry supply vehicle struck a cyclist who was returning home after duty.
The cyclist, identified as security guard Noor Alam, died instantly in the collision.
