Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has categorically said that Iran is not at war with Saudi Arabia, stressing that there is no reason for countries in the region to fight each other, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
In an interview with Indian media, Pezeshkian said the Houthis, who have attacked Saudi Arabia, have their own issues and that Iran is not at war with Riyadh.
He said Iran has repeatedly called on all countries in the region to sit together and hold talks for peace and security.
Pezeshkian also said that the upcoming talks in Muscat, Oman, on the Strait of Hormuz would include all countries from whose territories attacks had been launched against Iran.
“Iran wants its international rights, not war,” the Iranian president said, reiterating that Tehran continues to prioritise peace.
Asked about Iran’s Supreme Leader, Pezeshkian said he was thankful that the leader was alive and continuing to play his role in the country’s system as before.
He added that the enemy had failed to locate his whereabouts.
