Two siblings died while their parents are undergoing treatment after four members of a family fell seriously ill after eating suspected poisonous food in Lahore’s Harbanspura area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased were 16-year-old Qadeer and his 14-year-old sister, Asma.
Their parents, Hanif and Kulsoom Bibi, are currently receiving treatment at Services Hospital.
According to police, the couple and their two children ate leftover aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower curry) along with rice prepared the previous night.
The four family members were initially taken to Fauji Foundation Hospital and were later shifted to Services Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
Police said the two children died despite receiving medical care.
Police said food samples have been collected, while forensic teams are assisting in the investigation to determine the exact cause of the poisoning.
The Food Department has also been called in to help determine the cause of the suspected poisoning.
