The Federal Investigation Agency on Friday arrested two persons for running an illegal Hundi-Hawala currency exchange in Peshawar, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
FIA Peshawar Director Commercial Banking Circle said Idris Khan and Anwar Shah were arrested during a raid carried out in the Matta area of Swat.
Rs 5 million were recovered from the possession of accused Idris Khan while Rs 7 lack and 60 thousand were recovered from the possession of accused Anwar Shah.
FIA officials also recovered a list related to Hundi-Hawala references from the possession of the accused.
A case under Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1947 has been registered against the suspects who are detained in the FIA lock-up.
