Efforts to make Balochistan a polio-free province have begun to bear fruit as no polio case has been reported in the province during the last 15 months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar, eliminating polio in the province is a major success of the anti-polio campaign.
Reaching the mountainous routes and remote areas and administering polio drops to every child has been the top priority of the polio teams.
The effective performance of polio teams, the strategy of the health department and strict monitoring played a key role in making the campaign successful.
In this regard, Communication and Coordination Officer (CCO) Polio Inam-ul-Haq said efforts will continue to make Balochistan a permanently polio-free province.
Security personnel provided complete protection to the anti-polio teams and sacrificed their lives in this national duty, CCO Balochistan said.
He said the families of polio-affected people appealed to the parents to protect their children from this deadly disease by administering polio drops to their children to make them safe.
