President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt greetings to the Hindu and Sikh communities in Pakistan and across the world on the joyous occasion of Vaisakhi being celebrated today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In their separate messages, they described Vaisakhi as an important religious and cultural milestone that marks the beginning of the Rabi harvest season.
The President expressed government's commitment to facilitating Hindu and Sikh pilgrims and ensuring the security and upkeep of their places of worship across the country.
The Prime Minister said Sikh pilgrims from around the world visit sacred sites in Pakistan, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib and Gurdwara Janam Asthan, to take part in Vaisakhi celebrations.
Shehbaz Sharif said respect for all religious festivals promotes interfaith harmony.
