Despite a ban on aerial firing, people seem to be least bothered about it as three people were killed while 82 were injured in different incidents of aerial firing on the occasion of Independence Day in Karachi on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A young girl was among the three killed in these incidents.
An eight-year-old Marha was killed in Block 8 in Azizabad, while 35-year-old Stephen, son of John, was killed in 3.5 No Park in Korangi.
A 70-year-old Jumma, son of Salman, was killed in Agra Taj, while 51 men, 24 women, six boys and one girl were those who were injured in these incidents.
Most of the injured, totaling 40, were brought to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, while 22 were brought to the Civil Hospital and Jinnah Hospital each.
The highest number of cases of people getting injured were reported from Liaquatabad, where 10 people were wounded.
Cases were also reported from Orangi Town, Lyari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nazimabad and other localities of the city.
Two-year-old girl dies in Rawalpindi
A two-year-old girl, Zamal, was killed after she fell prey to aerial firing during Independence Day celebrations at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.
The baby was in the lap of her mother, who had come to the Bagh to attend a musical concert, when a bullet pierced through her neck.
She was rushed to a hospital where she breathed her last.
Police said that a woman was seriously injured in Rata Amral area when a bullet struck her head.
