Congratulating the nation on the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, while quoting Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, said on Thursday that the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent was a result of a struggle, and not a gift, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his message, he said that the humiliating defeat inflicted by Pakistan on India during the recent military confrontation had once again proved that ‘Unity, Faith and Discipline’ were still a guarantee of the nation’s freedom. “A clear message was given to our enemy that Pakistan of today is capable of defending itself. The victory over India has increased the jubilation associated with August 14th. ”
He said that Pakistan’s defence was impregnable and no one could cast an evil eye on the country.
The minister went on to say that these were the sacrifices given by millions of Muslims that finally Pakistan came into being. “The families of the martyrs are our own families,” he said, adding, “And we salute their courage and determination.”
Naqvi expressed the hope that the Pakistani nation would get over all difficulties and would march ahead on the path to progress.
