Actor and singer Mohsin Abbas Haider has shared his take on how women can respond to men who stare at them in public and suggested an option of confronting them directly may be more effective than simply ignoring the behaviour.
During the conversation, multi talented actress Amar Khan, also shared her take and turned towards the issue of men staring at women in public spaces.
Amar spoke about how women can face unwanted attention regardless of what they wear.
Mohsin contend that women should not always be expected to ignore such behaviour.
He said staring back at the person and directly asking, “What? What do you want?” to make them uncomfortable and discourage them from continuing.
He included that publicly calling out such behaviour can embarrass the person and may force them to back off.
The conversation also highlighted that staring cannot simply be blamed on a woman’s clothing with the speakers pointing out that women of different ages and appearances can face unwanted attention in public.
