Two minor siblings lost their lives after being electrocuted by high-voltage electricity wires in a heartbreaking incident in a suburban area of Renala Khurd, plunging the entire neighborhood into grief and shock, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to initial reports, the tragedy occurred on the outskirts of Renala Khurd, where an eight-year-old boy was playing on the rooftop of his house when he accidentally came into contact with high-voltage power lines running dangerously close to the residential structure.
The child was electrocuted on the spot and died instantly.
In a desperate attempt to save her younger brother, the boy’s elder sister, aged between 10 and 12 years, rushed to his aid.
Tragically, she too came into contact with the live wires and was fatally electrocuted, losing her life at the scene.
The incident triggered scenes of chaos and mourning, as grieving family members and local residents struggled to comprehend the sudden and devastating loss.
The atmosphere in the area turned somber as news of the tragedy spread.
Upon receiving information, local police rushed to the scene, collected evidence, and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities have also launched an investigation into possible negligence regarding the placement and safety of the high-voltage power lines near residential homes.
The tragic deaths have once again drawn attention to the dangers posed by poorly maintained or improperly positioned electricity infrastructure, prompting residents to call for immediate corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
