The Supreme Court’s puisne judge, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, has said that he is not afraid of any reference against him, as he has done nothing wrong.

According to a report by 24NewsHD TV Channel on Friday, he made these remarks during an informal conversation with journalists after attending the oath-taking ceremony of seven newly appointed judges.

When asked about reports of a reference going to be filed against him, Justice Mansoor responded confidently: "We will see when the reference comes. Why should I fear it when I have done nothing wrong? I leave it to Allah." He further stated that he holds no personal grudges or differences with anyone.

During the conversation, a journalist asked, “The Chief Justice (CJP) says you don’t work. What is your response?”

Justice Mansoor smiled and replied, “Of course, we are only here to take tea. But if you ever find time, check the records. You will see who works and how much. Everything is available on the Supreme Court’s website, including the number of reported judgements each judge has given.”

Another journalist questioned, “The Chief Justice says the judges who wrote the letter panicked. What do you say?”

In response, Justice Mansoor burst into laughter and said, “Look, even now, our hands and feet are shaking.”

When asked whether other judges supported him, Justice Mansoor placed his hand on Justice Aqeel Abbasi’s shoulder and remarked, “See, other judges are here too.” To this, a journalist jokingly said, “But he is just here for tea.”

Justice Aqeel Abbasi, smiling, replied, “Perhaps you don’t know me well.”

Concluding the conversation, Justice Mansoor made a thought-provoking remark: “What can we say if no one sees the elephant in the room? We meet all judges and even have tea together.”
