Senior government officials have contacted PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and have informed him that a panel of doctors will examine the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The PTI is expected to end its ongoing sit-in at the Parliament House, KP House and Parliament Lodges after the medical checkup of the former prime minister.

PTI had to stage a sit-in after a seven-page report on Imran Khan’s health issues as well as the facilities being provided to him at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, submitted by PTI lawyer Salman Safdar in the Supreme Court (SC), made some startling revelations.

The report revealed that the former prime minister had complained that for three months the jail authorities did not take his eye infection seriously.

Quoting Imran, the report had disclosed that in October 2025, his eyesight was 6/6. “But later it started deteriorating. And everything started to appear murky to me,” the PTI founder said, adding that despite repeatedly informing the jail superintendent, he was not taken to a doctor for a checkup.

The report informed that despite treatment provided to Imran at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the vision in his right eye dropped to just 15 per cent.

The report also mentioned that during Safdar’s meeting, water was oozing from Imran’s eyes.

Furthermore, his teeth had not been checked for the last two years.

On the facilities provided to the former prime minister, the report had said that he had been kept in solitary confinement, and that the television set installed in his room was out of order.

In view of these facts, it had been recommended to the authorities to provide him books, which would create no security issue.

The report also recommended immediate checkup of the former prime minister’s eyes.

It recommended that his personal physicians Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yousaf be allowed to see him.

The report recommended that the PTI founder should be provided a refrigerator and arrangements should be made in his cell to kill mosquitoes and insects.

It had also been pointed out that Imran’s lawyers were not being allowed to meet him, which had taken away the right to a fair trial from him.

The report requested the courts to intervene and ensure Imran Khan’s meetings with his lawyers.

Similarly, authorities have been urged to also arrange his meetings with his family members.
