Veteran actor Shaukat Zaidi breathes his last

Veteran actor, writer and journalists Shaukat Zaidi breathed his last after a protracted illness in Lahore on Sunday. He was 72, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

His Namaza-e-Janaza was offered at Main Janazgah on Lytton Road and he was buried in Miani Sahib graveyard after Zohr prayers.

Shaukat Zaidi had been receiving kidney treatment at a private hospital in Lahore but passed away early Sunday.

Apart from his prolific acting career, Zaidi also remained associated with the field of journalism from 1970 to 1998. He had also written dramas for theatres for 10 years.

Though he went on to perform in many dramas, he stole the spotlight by performing many characters in the renowned TV programme “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain".

During the show, he performed the character of a person representing the poorest segment of society.
