PAC performance report from 2018 to 2023 released

A performance report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Thursday was issued which stated that Rs1,153 billion were recovered from 2018 till May 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the report, 12741 audit paras were discussed during the period of five and a half years. Out of these paras, 119 were transferred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and 94 were transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The report also stated that 3839 Audit Paras and 721 grants were settled.

After Member of National Assembly (MNA) Noor Alam Khan became the chairman, Rs556.52 billion have been recovered from June 2022 to May 2023 and 600 Audit Paras have been discussed out of which, 34 were sent to the FIA and 20 were referred to NAB. In Noor Alam’s time, 145 paras and 73 grants were settled by the committee.

The accounts committee took notice of the installation of scanners at the Torkham border and the increase in car prices. It also issued orders against the appointment of any government officer at the same place for three years.

PAC started inquiries about sensitive data getting leaked from NADRA and abolished the encroachments in Islamabad. It also gave the Grand Hyatt Plaza into government custody and gave possession of the flats to the owners.
