The Supreme Court Thursday unveiled its judges roster for the upcoming week, outlining the distribution of cases among different benches, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
At the principal seat in Islamabad, five benches have been assigned to hear various cases. Notably, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has not been included in any of the benches for the next week, continuing the pattern of his absence. Instead, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa will be engaged in chamber work throughout the week.
One of the benches at the principal seat will comprise Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Ayesha Malik, and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi. Another bench will consist of Justice Ejazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar. The third bench will include three justices: Yahya Afridi, Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, and Musarat Hilali. However, starting from 11:30 a.m., the composition of the fourth bench will change to Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Musrat Hilali. The fifth bench, after 11:30 a.m., will be formed by Justices Ayesha Malik and Hasan Azhar Rizvi.
Additionally, a dedicated bench will be established at the Quetta registry to address cases from the region. Justice Aminuddin and Justice Jamal Mandukhel have been assigned to preside over these cases, ensuring access to justice for the Quetta region.
The release of the judges roster provides transparency and clarity regarding the distribution of cases within the Supreme Court for the upcoming week. As the designated benches take on their respective roles, litigants and legal professionals can anticipate a fair and efficient judicial process.
