Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited different rain-hit areas of Lahore on Monday to review the water drainage system after rain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Chief Minister visited Misri Shah, Laxmi Chowk, and other rain-hit areas of the provincial capital.
During her visit, the Chief Minister directed to expedite work on the water drainage system on the roads and their adjacent areas.
The Chief Minister further directed the administration to ensure cleanliness in these areas and reviewed traffic flow after the rain.
Earlier, light rain in Lahore and its surrounding areas early Monday morning brought a pleasant change in weather as the second spell of monsoon showers continued across the country.
The rain, while offering much-needed respite from the heat, also led to disruptions in the electricity supply.
Several feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, resulting in power outages in multiple localities.
Areas that received rainfall included Defence, Ghazi Road, Ferozepur Road, Walton, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Jail Road, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk, and Sanda, among others.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current monsoon spell is expected to persist until Thursday.
