As part of Pakistan’s sustained efforts to wipe out the debilitating virus, a special polio vaccination campaign was launched today in Diamer and three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The campaign also covers specific union councils in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with teams working on the ground to make sure every child is vaccinated.
As per the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), more than 318,000 children are expected to receive the oral polio vaccine during this focused campaign, with each round of vaccination aimed at ensuring lifelong immunity from polio.
The National EOC emphasized that completing the full course of immunizations shields children from life-threatening diseases and significantly reduces health risks in vulnerable communities.
The EOC further stressed that eradicating polio is a collective national duty, and that Pakistan can eliminate this disease by the help of collective resolve, clear strategy, and parental support.
