Pakistani veteran actress Bushra Ansari has shared an emotional review of Indian singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s film Satluj, describing it as a deeply heartbreaking watch while praising the star for boldly addressing sensitive historical issues through cinema.
Taking to her social media handle, Bushra posted a video expressing her thoughts after watching the film and encouraged audiences to give it a watch.
Reflecting on the experience, she said the film left a profound emotional impact on her.
“I saw the film Satluj. I had heard about it before, but what I actually saw was incredibly heartbreaking. The thing I admire most about Diljit Dosanjh is that he speaks very courageously about these kinds of issues.”
Bushra further reflected on how the events portrayed in the film made her question how communities could inflict such suffering upon people of their own faith. She also spoke about the decline of principled individuals who once stood firmly for their beliefs, communities, and ideals, saying such people seem increasingly rare today.
The actress revealed that the film affected her so deeply that she struggled to sleep for two days after watching it.
“Watching it has left me unable to sleep for the past two days. God forgive us. What happened to our Sikh brothers at that time was deeply heartbreaking to watch.”
Bushra also mentioned that although the film was reportedly removed shortly after its release, it remains available on platforms including YouTube and ZEE5, encouraging viewers to watch it for themselves.
Her remarks quickly gained traction on social media, where many users applauded her for speaking openly about the film and the historical events it depicts.
One user wrote, “Thank you for shedding light on Satluj and the atrocities that occurred in Punjab. Diljit Dosanjh did an incredible job bringing such difficult subjects to the forefront.”
