Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of Aitchison-level schools for boys and girls across the province as part of a major education initiative, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The flagship pilot project, named the "Maryam Nawaz Centre of Academic Leadership", will be developed on Wahdat Road in Lahore to provide high-quality education for both male and female students.

The campus will include state-of-the-art sports facilities, including a modern sports hall, a hockey stadium and a cricket stadium.

Students will also have access to horse-riding facilities and a swimming pool as part of the institution's comprehensive educational and extracurricular programme.

According to the proposed plan, the Maryam Nawaz Centre of Academic Leadership will have the capacity to enrol 5,000 boys and 5,000 girls, creating opportunities for 10,000 students in total.

The approval was granted during a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, following a detailed briefing on the proposed project.

The chief minister formally approved the Maryam Nawaz Centre of Academic Leadership pilot project as a key step towards enhancing educational standards across Punjab.
