Pakistani YouTuber Iqra Kanwal and her husband Areeb have secured a major legal relief after a local court approved their bails in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), reported 24Newshd TV channel on Tuesday.

According to the channel report, Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui approved the bail petitions of Iqra Kanwal and Areeb, bringing an end to months of repeated court appearances in connection with the case.

The couple had been regularly attending court hearings while seeking confirmation of their bail after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered a case against them under the PECA Act.

Meanwhile, social media influencer Aroob Jatoi had already been granted bail in a separate case related to the alleged promotion of online gambling.

It is worthy to mention that cases are part of the FIA's broader crackdown on social media influencers accused of promoting or endorsing online betting and gambling platforms through digital content.

Earlier this year, several well-known influencers, including Ducky Bhai (Saad Ur Rehman), Aroob Jatoi, Iqra Kanwal, and Areeb, came under investigation after the agency registered cases over alleged violations of cybercrime laws.
