A judicial magistrate in Karachi on Monday sent four suspects to judicial custody in the murder case of a six-year-old boy after sexual assault in the city's Lea Market area, after the prime accused allegedly confessed to the crime before the court, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
The accused were produced before the Judicial Magistrate (South), where the court recorded the confessional statement of the main suspect, Hamza.
According to the statement, Hamza admitted to killing after sexually assaulting the child and told the court that he hid the body out of fear of being arrested by police.
The suspect further stated that the following day, he took the child's body to the rooftop and threw it into a nearby street.
After recording the confession, the court remanded all four accused to jail on judicial remand for further legal proceedings.
According to police, the main suspect was the victim's neighbour.
Investigators revealed that after killing the child, he concealed the body in a sack before attempting to dispose of it.
Police said the suspect's brother, father, and uncle were also arrested for allegedly facilitating the crime.
A separate case has been registered against them at Napier Police Station, while further investigation is underway.
