Pakistani actress Maya Ali has come out in support of fellow star Sajal Aly after the latter faced criticism over her performance in the drama serial Zanjeerain.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Maya shared a strong-worded message and requested people to understand the difference between "mocking, mimicry and constructive criticism."
She praised Sajal for her achievements and explained that the actress has delivered countless successful projects, represented Pakistan on international platforms and earned recognition for her performances at a young age.
"Every artist deserves respect for their hard work and talent. Chasing ratings should never come at the cost of someone's dignity," Maya wrote.
Ending her message with heartfelt praise, Maya added, "As I have always said, there will never be another SAJAL."
Sajal Aly recently became the subject of criticism and online mockery over her performance in Zanjeerain and sparked debate on social media.
Maya Ali is one of Pakistan's leading actresses, best known for dramas including Diyar-e-Dil, Mann Mayal, Jo Bichar Gaye and Sunn Mere Dil, as well as the blockbuster film Teefa in Trouble.
Sajal Aly is among Pakistan's most celebrated performers, known for acclaimed projects such as Yaqeen Ka Safar, Alif, Sinf-e-Aahan, Kuch Ankahi, and the Bollywood film Mom.
She is also the recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her contributions to Pakistan's entertainment industry.
