More than 100,000 fans flooded the streets of Oslo on Tuesday to give Norway's national football team a hero's welcome despite its elimination from the FIFA World Cup in the quarter-finals, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Norway's historic campaign ended on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat to England, crushing the team's hopes of reaching the semi-finals.
However, the result did little to dampen the nation's pride, as supporters turned out in huge numbers to celebrate the team's memorable World Cup journey.

The squad received a traditional water cannon salute upon landing at Oslo Airport before beginning a homecoming parade through the Norwegian capital.
Later, accompanied by the Royal Guards, the players gathered on the steps of the Royal Palace to thank thousands of cheering supporters who had assembled to welcome them.
Star striker Erling Haaland, however, was unable to stay for the final moments of the celebrations due to an early departure.
As a result, he missed the team's traditional "Viking Row" celebration on the palace steps, where players and fans joined together in the iconic chant led by Crown Prince Haakon, who beat a drum to lead the festivities.
