The Punjab government on Tuesday ordered a major reshuffle of senior bureaucrats, transferring and posting deputy commissioners, secretaries and other senior officers across the province with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the changes affect officers serving in the Planning and Development Board, district administrations, the Home, Irrigation, Finance and Health departments, the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority and other government institutions.
Under the reshuffle, Dr. Muhammad Waheed Asghar Bhatti (PAS/BS-19), Chief of Section at the Planning and Development Board, has been appointed Managing Director of the Punjab Resource Management and Policy Unit (PRMPU). He replaces Muhammad Ahmad, who has been relieved of the additional charge of the post.
Saba Asghar Ali (PAS/BS-19), Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, has been transferred and posted as Chief of Section at the Planning and Development Board, replacing Dr. Bhatti.
Awais Mushtaq (PAS/BS-19), Additional Director General (Housing) of the Lahore Development Authority, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner Sialkot under Section 9 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974.
The government also transferred Maham Asif Malik (PAS/BS-19), Additional Secretary, Home Department, and posted her as Deputy Commissioner Toba Tek Singh against a vacant post.
Ahmed Usman Javaid (PAS/BS-19) has been transferred from the post of Deputy Commissioner Okara and appointed Additional Secretary, Home Department.
Muhammad Ikram Malik (PAS/BS-19), Additional Secretary, Irrigation Department, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Okara, replacing Ahmed Usman Javaid.
In another change, Ali Akbar (PMS/BS-18) has been transferred from the post of Deputy Commissioner Jhang and appointed Additional Secretary, Irrigation Department.
Babar Sahib Din (PAS/BS-18), Director General of the Suthra Punjab Authority, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Jhang. He has also been relieved of the additional charge of Managing Director, Suthra Punjab Agency.
The notification further states that Maleeha Rashid (PAS/BS-19) has been relieved as Deputy Commissioner Khanewal and directed to report to the S&GAD to attend the Senior Management Course.
She has been replaced by Hena Arshad (PAS/BS-19), who has been transferred from the post of Additional Secretary, Health and Population Department, on an acting charge basis.
Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao (PMS/BS-18) has been transferred from the post of Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib and appointed Additional Secretary, Health and Population Department.
The Punjab government has appointed Ra'ana Hameed (PAS/BS-19), Secretary (Services and Coordination), Board of Revenue, as Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib.
In Bahawalnagar, Sayyed Muhammad Abbas Shah (PAS/BS-19), Additional Secretary, Finance Department, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, replacing Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhoon (PMS/BS-18).
Bhoon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority on deputation.
Meanwhile, Capt. (Retd.) Syed Ali Asghar (PAS/BS-19) has been transferred from the post of Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Saaf Pani Authority, and appointed Additional Secretary, Finance Department. He has also been relieved of the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Saaf Pani Company (South and North).
The transfers and postings will take effect immediately, according to the notification issued by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman under the orders of the Governor of Punjab.
