Britain has officially designated Iran's Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation, making any form of support for the group illegal under UK law, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the designation has been made under the country's new state threats powers, which are aimed at strengthening national security and addressing risks posed by foreign-backed organisations.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are among three organisations named under the new framework. The other designated groups are the Islamic Movement of Companions of the Right and Russia's GRU Volunteer Corps.
