Contrary to the expectations of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), a banned organization, people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday largely ignored the call for a strike given by the committee as routine life was witnessed in major cities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Most of the shopping centers and other businesses in Bhimber, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Mirpur, Neelum and other cities remained open.

Similarly, routine traffic was witnessed on cities’ roads.

This shows that the people of AJK are peace-loving people, who do not believe in violence for the resolution of their issues.

Also on Sunday, wife of Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Hussein Malik, met with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and expressed concern over the situation in AJK.

Both Mushaal and Fazl agreed that the issues confronting the people of AJK should be resolved through dialogue and political means rather than confrontation.

JUI-F Kashmir Ameer Maulana Saeed Yousaf, Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, and Engineer Ziaur Rehman were also present at the meeting.
