The missing wheel of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight 306 has been recovered near the remote parking bay of Jinnah International Airport, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) confirmed on Sunday.

According to PCAA officials, wheel shop technicians discovered the detached component near the landing gear of a grounded Boeing 777 at the airport. Authorities stated that no casualties or property damage resulted from the wheel's detachment.

Meanwhile, Airbus has reached out to PIA regarding the emergency landing of Flight PK-306 at Lahore Airport without one of its rear wheels. The aircraft manufacturer has launched a technical investigation and formally requested a detailed report on the incident.

Airbus has also asked for the aircraft’s three-month flight data record, a complete checklist, and technical reports on the landing gear system.

The Airbus A320, registered as AP-BLS, landed in Lahore on Wednesday night, where it was discovered that one of its rear wheels was missing. For three days, PIA officials struggled to locate the missing wheel, which was suspected to have detached during takeoff from Karachi Airport. The Board of Safety Investigation is already conducting a separate inquiry into the incident.
