Sugar prices continue to rise in Ramazan

The price of sugar has increased further in the second week of Ramazan, reported 24NewsHDTV channel. 

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the price of sugar has gone up by Rs. 9.26 per kg in just one week. The average price is now Rs. 171.90 per kg, with a maximum price of Rs. 180 per kg in some areas. Official data shows that in the last two weeks, sugar has become Rs. 14.22 per kg more expensive. Over the past three and a half months, the average price has increased by Rs. 40 per kg. At the start of 2025, the average price of sugar was Rs138.64 per kg.

While a year ago, it was Rs. 145.93 per kg. The government allowed the export of 750,000 tonnes of sugar from June to October 2024.
