The ruling alliance - Pakistan Democratic Movement – is all set to take out a big protest rally outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan tomorrow and has also announced to stage a sit-in that will continue till the resignation of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
More than 100,000 supporters of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam will take part in the PDM rally against the superior judiciary for what they called granting bail to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan beyond the constitution and the law of the country.
PDM and JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman lamented the judicial decisions in favour of Imran, accusing the judiciary of protecting a ‘criminal’ instead of bringing him to the justice.
According to sources, the JUI workers from Quetta and Karachi will reach Islamabad today and some convoys were already on the road.
Whereas, the JUI supports from the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar, and from Punjab will march to the federal capital tomorrow.
All the caravans from the KP will enter Islamabad from Hakla.
The Peshawar rally will be led by Maulana Ataur Rehman.
As many as 5,000 volunteers of Insar-ul-Islam will perform security duty.
The caravan from the KP south districts will be led by Akram Khan Durrani.
The Sindh caravan will be taken out under the leadership of Rashid Mehmood Soomro.
Balochistan rally will be headed by Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Abdul Wasay.
While the Punjab rally command will be given to Dr Atiqur Rehman.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also decided to fully participate in the protest demonstration outside the Supreme Court as announced by the PDM.
PML-N Senior Vice-President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz on Saturday called an emergency consultative meeting of the party in this regard.
The meeting decided to take part in the PDM protest rally.
Sources said the PML-N leaders have been tasked to bring maximum supporters for the protest in Islamabad.
Lawmakers have been asked to lead a 50-vehicle convoy from their respective constituencies.
The main PML-N caravan will set off for Islamabad on Monday and will be led by Maryam Nawaz.
Ansarul Islam volunteers visit PDM protest venue outside SC
Volunteers of JUI’s Ansarul Islam reached outside Supreme Court on Sunday to review the security arrangements for the PDM protest.
On receiving the news about entry of Ansarul Islam volunteers into Red Zone, a police party from Secretariat police station rushed to the spot.
The policemen questioned the JUI volunteers and obtained information from them about their visit.
