An American travel vlogger, Drew Binsky, expressed surprise at the remarkable calm and resilience displayed by the Pakistani public during the Indo-Pak war following the 'false-flag operation' in Pahalgam, Indian held Kashmir.
The Pahalgam incident led to India launching overnight airstrikes across parts of Kashmir and Punjab between May 6 and 7.
These attacks reportedly resulted in the martyrdom of 40 Pakistani civilians and 13 armed personnel.
In response, Pakistan carried out a decisive retaliatory military operation, codenamed Operation Bunyān Mursūs on May 10, which successfully neutralized Indian aggression, dealing a significant setback to the Indian forces.
Amid this heightened state of hostilities, flight operations in and out of Pakistan were suspended, leaving many domestic and international travelers stranded.
Among them was Drew Binsky, a well-known US travel vlogger, who had been touring Pakistan and found himself unexpectedly detained in the region due to airspace closures.
Despite the tense political and military backdrop, Binsky continued to document his experiences through vlogs, offering his audience a window into life on the ground in Kashmir.
In a video posted on Instagram, he reassured his followers about his safety, stating, “A lot of people are calling and messaging me to check if I’m okay. I just want to let everyone know—I’m absolutely fine.”
What stood out most to the vlogger was the composed demeanor of the Pakistani people in the face of external threats.
"What amazes me is how relaxed everyone is despite the ongoing tension. The streets are bustling, shops are open, and children are going to school as usual," he observed.
Binsky also highlighted the patriotic spirit among the locals, noting that rallies were being held across towns to show solidarity with the armed forces and support for national security.
His observations have drawn attention on social media, shedding light on the often-overlooked everyday resilience and unity of Pakistanis during times of crisis.
