As many as two notorious dacoits were shot dead when their colleagues opened fire on a Crime Control Department (CCD) team in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
CCD sources said that the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Nishtar Town Police Station.
All the CCD team members remained unhurt during the police encounter. Both accused were later identified as Zubair and Atif.
Later, all colleagues of the accused escaped from the scene taking advantage of the darkness.
Police constituted different raiding teams to apprehend the culprits.
Earlier on May 4, 2025, a notorious dacoit, namely Mohammad Adeel, was gunned down during a police encounter in Lahore.
A spokesman of the Crime Control Department (CCD) said that the dead dacoit was wanted by the police in dacoity and police encounter cases.
Further investigation was underway.
