The O-Level book "The History and Culture of Pakistan" has been banned in the federal capital. The concerned authorities have ordered private educational institutions to immediately remove the said book from the curriculum. All private schools in Islamabad have been directed to remove the book from libraries and classrooms.
It has been further directed that private educational institutions will not be able to include any book in the curriculum without NOC.
In this respect, surprise inspection teams will be formed to check the presence of banned books in educational institutions. Moreover, the legal action and fines will be taken against schools violating the orders. The administration decides to raid book shops as well, sale of books without NOC prohibited.
