SJC takes up 23 matters with relevant constitutional provisions

The Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan met on Thursday under the chair of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi who is also head of Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Chief Justice, Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan; Justice Munib Akhtar, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan; Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Judge, Supreme Court Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Judge, Federal Constitutional Court, Ms. Aalia Neelum, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court and Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar, Chief Justice, Islamabad High Court. 

The Supreme Judicial Council decided to first take up matters concerning some of its own members. Accordingly, meetings were held with varying compositions in accordance with the relevant constitutional provisions. 

The meeting of the reconstituted Council was chaired by. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Chief Justice, Federal Constitutional Court, and attended by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Judge, Supreme Court; Justice Shahid Waheed, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan; and Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah, Chief Justice, Peshawar High Court, as substituted members. 

The Council considered twenty-three (23) matters in accordance with Article 209 of the Constitution of Pakistan and disposed of the business at the agenda.
