A notorious drug peddler was killed in an exchange of fire with police in the Karbogha Sharif area of Hangu, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to DPO Hangu Khan Zeb Mohmand, the suspect opened fire on a police party led by the SHO of Doaba Police Station, targeting the team.
The DPO said the police team retaliated effectively, killing the alleged drug peddler identified as Saif Din.
SHO Imran Uddin confirmed that the suspect was wanted in at least 13 criminal cases, including drug trafficking and sexual assault.
Police officials reiterated that the crackdown on criminal elements would continue until the area was cleared of such networks.
