A beggar from Multan, famously known as Shaukat Bhikari, who gained social media fame for asking for alms in English, has died in a tragic road accident.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Shaukat Bhikari was seriously injured in a traffic collision and was rushed to the hospital, but could not survive.
Shaukat Bhikari rose to fame for his unique style of begging in English, often saying “One rupee, please,” which helped him collect millions of rupees over time.
On social media, he would regularly display bank receipts showing the money he had gathered through donations.
His rising fortune also caught the attention of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which had issued him several notices regarding his income.
