Tremors were felt in Gilgit, Skardu, Astore, and adjoining areas on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake was recorded at 3.7 on the Richter scale with a depth of 25 kilometres underground.
The epicentre was located 34 kilometres southwest of Skardu.
The tremors caused panic among residents, who rushed out of their homes in fear.
However, there are no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
