Five wanted dacoits were killed in different encounters with Crime Control Department (CCD) in Lahore, Gujranwala and Jhang, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to police, two dacoits were killed in encounter with CCD in Lahore during raid for arrest of suspects.
Police said during raid the accused opened fire on police party and in retaliatory firing, two suspects were killed who were identified as Naveed Akhtar alias Sohna and Mukhtar alias Mukhtara.
The both accused were wanted in murder, attempted murder, police encounters and rapes during robberies.
The bodies of the slain suspects were shifted to mortuary while search operation for arrests of the escaped suspects is on.
Meanwhile, two dangerous dacoits were killed in encounter with CCD in Gujranwala.
According to police, both the dead dacoits were record holders. The accused Rasheed was wanted in 50 cases while other accused Rashid was wanted in 16 cases.
On the other hand, a most wanted dacoit Iftekhar Sahu was killed while a police constable was injured in encounter with dacoit gang in Jhang.
According to police, the dacoit Iftekhar Sahu was wanted in more than 60 cases in the region and was declared proclaimed offender.
Police said the accomplices of the accused Iftekhar Sahu managed to escape from crime scene leaving stolen motorcycle.
