Pakistan Baitul Mal South Punjab Office hosts ceremony to mark Independence Day

Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) Regional Office South Punjab, Multan, organized a grand event to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with great enthusiasm and national unity. The function was well attended by the staff of PBM projects of Multan, Muzaffargarh and Khanewal as well as children of SRCL I, II and III. 

The chief guest at the event was Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Ansari, former Vice Chancellor, Bahauddin Zakaria University (BZU), Multan. The dignitaries included:

- Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashfaq, Head, Department of Sociology, BZU Multan

- Prof. Dr. Khurram Afzal, Head, Department of Food Sciences, BZU Multan

- Dr. Wali Muhammad, Regional Director, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, BZU Multan

- Ms. Umme Farwa, Divisional Director, Social Welfare and Punjab Baitul Mal, Multan

- Mehr Mazhar Abbas (Retd.), former Director, PBM South Punjab and Divisional Director, Social Welfare and PBM DG Khan

- Dr. Tasleem Ahmed Qureshi, President, Al Mustafa Welfare Society, South Punjab

- Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Chughtai, President, Al Khidmat Foundation, South Punjab

- Mr. Shahid Mehmood Ansari, President, Shoor Tariqat Organization and Member, PBM Sweet Home Supervisory Committee, Multan

- Chaudhry Muhammad Sajid, Regional Manager, 6-B Food Industries, Multan

- Syed Fayyaz Hussain Bukhari (Retd.), Former State Bank of Pakistan Officer and Member, PBM Sweet Home Supervisory Committee, Multan 

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by hymns, naats, national songs and a colorful cultural program presented by the SRCL children. The flag hoisting ceremony was the highlight of the program, accompanied by inspiring speeches by the distinguished guests, which highlighted the importance of freedom, national unity and paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army. 

In his address, Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Ansari stressed the importance of knowledge, discipline and patriotism. He paid special tribute to the successful completion of Operation Baniyan-ul-Marsoos by the Pakistan Army and their unwavering commitment to the security of the nation.

Mr. Riaz Ahmed, Director, PBM South Punjab, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the guests and participants and appreciated the efforts of the children and the dedication of his team. He encouraged everyone to adopt the values of knowledge, discipline, honesty and respect in their personal and professional lives for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with a cake cutting ceremony, in which the Pakistan Army was once again paid tribute and the pledge for national progress was renewed. The ceremony concluded with enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad”.
