The National Cyber Investigation Agency (NCIA) Sukkur team arrested TikToker Makhdoom Junaid in Karachi on charges of blackmailing a petitioner through a honey trap scheme and extorting millions of rupees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
According to officials, the NCIA team, led by Inspector Ulfat Soder, raided Abul Hassan Isfahani Road on an informer’s tip-off. When the officers moved in, the accused attempted to flee, allegedly instructing female relatives to undress and go live on social media to create chaos. Footage of the resistance from the women has since gone viral.
Police sources said NCIA sought assistance from a Sachal police mobile passing nearby. During the confrontation near Rajput Hospital, the accused reportedly attacked FIA officers with a butcher’s knife, seriously injuring one NCIA official. The attacker, along with women identified as Fehmida Makhdoom, Ghazala, and Kainat, was taken into custody.
Investigations revealed that a woman named Reshma befriended the victim on behalf of the accused. Authorities allege Junaid had sent an edited objectionable video to the petitioner, demanding money, and had already extorted Rs 4.4 million. He later sought an additional Rs 7 million, leaking the video when the demand was not met.
The NCIA team shifted all four arrested suspects to its Karachi office for further investigation.
