Pakistani singer and composer Mustafa Zahid has found a heartfelt way to reconnect with fans of his iconic Awarapan legacy, releasing a new rendition of ‘Tera Mera Rishta’ as the highly anticipated Awarapan 2 moves forward without his vocals on its official soundtrack.
The singer unveiled “Tera Mera Rishta 2.0” on August 14 as an independent release, presenting the soulful recreation as a special gift for fans who have continued to associate the song with the original Awarapan.
Mustafa is not officially part of the Awarapan 2 soundtrack. Due to the restrictions surrounding Pakistani artists working in Indian cinema amid the ongoing cross-border tensions, his vocals could not be included in the film’s official musical album.
Rather than letting the song disappear from the franchise, Mustafa chose to release his own standalone version independently. The track is being shared across platforms including YouTube, Instagram Reels and streaming services, allowing listeners to revisit the emotion of the original through his voice once again.
The accompanying music video also carries a message of unity between India and Pakistan, placing art and love above geographical and political divisions.
