Demi Lovato turned heads as she stepped out with her husband, Jutes, for a festive night in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 13. The newly married couple attended the OBB Media holiday party, joining a host of celebrities for the glamorous celebration.
The appearance marked another public outing for the pair, who tied the knot earlier this year.
Demi shares a long-standing professional relationship with OBB Media, the company behind her recent documentary projects, including Child Star on Hulu and Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil.
Their presence at the party reflected both a personal and professional connection to the production house.
While the holiday event drew attention, it was Jutes’ recent interview that truly captured fans’ imagination.
Speaking on The Zach Sang Show, he opened up about one of the most unforgettable moments from their wedding — having Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Reznik perform the band’s iconic hit Iris for their first dance.
Describing the surreal experience, Jutes said, “That’s like one of the coolest things. That was, in the moment, me and Demi were looking at each other and I was just like, ‘What’s going on right now?’ I was like, ‘This is the most iconic song ever. He’s right there and it’s for us.’ Such a legend for doing that. Forever grateful.”
The moment felt almost cinematic to him. “I was just like, ‘This is actually a movie moment. I don’t know what’s going on,’” he added.
He revealed that he initially expected a softer rendition of the song, saying, “It was just him and an acoustic [guitar].
"I was thinking, ’cause I looked up the acoustic version, a couple different acoustic versions online, and they were kind of more chill.
"So I was like that’s obviously what he’s going to do. There’s no way he’s going to come in and just like rip. And he just ripped it.”
According to Jutes, the performance quickly transformed into a full-blown concert atmosphere. “He had everyone singing. I was like, ‘Dude, this is like a sold out concert level,’” he said.
“He really killed it. It was unreal. All my friends still hit me to this day and they’re like, ‘Was just driving to work thinking about the ‘Iris.’ It’s one of those things where I’m like, I can’t. I still can’t believe that actually happened.”
Adding another exciting twist, Demi Lovato and the Goo Goo Dolls are both set to appear on the upcoming Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest special.
While the exact details of their performances remain under wraps, the event will span multiple cities this year, including New York City’s Times Square, Las Vegas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, and more.
