Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 550 kg of substandard meat in the provincial capital, 24NewsHD Tv channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the sources, a PFA team flagged down a truck at the Babu Sabu Interchange and recovered a huge quantity of the unhygienic meat. The confiscated stuff was being to Lahore markets.
PFA DG Mudassar Riaz Malik praised the raiding team, saying that the officials saved taxpayers from a health disaster.
He said aid that those who play with people's health are enemies of human health. “Strict legal action will be taken against those who sell the meat of emaciated, sick, and dead animals.”
He said the supply of quality and healthy food items across the province is the top priority.
PFA DG said that punishments of those who cheat citizens, forged and play with health would be increased.
