The sixth annual “Euro Village” at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) became the hub for multi-cultural exchange, music, food and interactive experiences on Saturday as over a dozen European envoys hailing from various capitals gathered under the one roof and mixed up with a large crowd present to enjoy the fiesta.
The annual “Euro Village festival” was co-organised and hosted by the diplomatic missions of the European Union alongside those of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and Spain.
Majority of European embassies installed their stalls to showcase their rich cultures and heritage for the interest of visitors offering them to interact freely with the ambassadors, DHMs and other embassy officials present there and to quench their thirst for information regarding EU member’s states.
In its sixth edition, the “Euro Village” offered an afternoon of culture, music, and culinary delights. The festival featured a variety of engaging activities, including information displays from the EU and Member States, live performances, fun games, and an array of food options.
Thousands of visitors had the chance to connect with the Team Europe, learn about the diverse areas of collaboration between the European Union and Pakistan.
Due to huge public queues, the gates of Pakistani National Council of Arts were shut down for long to avoid unpleasant situation in already jam packed arena.
The event also featured live performances by both European and Pakistani artists and performers, including Farhan Saeed. Alongside thrilling Western beats, the tradition Pakistani Music, dances and performances were highly cheered by the hundreds of spectators waving and dancing.
Not only the youth but children, families and elderly people also enjoyed the venue packed with various attractions, gifts and food items.
In her welcome remarks, the Ambassador of European Union to Pakistan Dr. Riina Kionka, noted, “We celebrate the diverse cultures and identities that enrich Europe, forming the foundation of our shared values and our relations with the world, including Pakistan.
Elaborating further she added “Together, we are stronger, and our partnership in development, trade, and political engagement reflects this commitment.”
