Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb left Islamabad for Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning to attend a two-day Al-Ula Conference for Emerging Market Economies, which will get underway in the historic city of Al-Ula on February 16, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
His Adviser Khurram Shahzad accompanied him on the visit.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has organised the conference in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Finance.
As many as 200 delegates, including 36 speakers, from 48 countries will attend the conference.
Aurangzeb will also attend a panel debate, which will be hosted by IMF Managing Director (MD) Kristalina Georgieva, and in which his counterparts from Egypt, Brazil and Turkey will also participate.
The organisers of the conference plan to hold it every year so that a strong world economy could emerge.
Experts from the private sector, representatives of the educational institutions, finance ministers of different countries, governors of central banks and policymakers will attend the event.
