Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Germany from 12 to 14 February to attend meetings on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
During the visit, he interacted with a number of dignitaries, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, where matters of mutual interest were discussed, including global and regional security dynamics and counterterrorism cooperation.
As part of his engagements with German authorities, General Asim called on Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of the Interior, Federal Republic of Germany, Günter Sautter, Foreign Policy & Security Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor of Germany, and Carsten Breuer, Chief of Defence of the Federal Armed Forces.
The meetings focused on contemporary security issues, bilateral defence cooperation and the need to promote global peace and security through bilateral and multilateral dialogue.
In addition, General Asim had an engagement with Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces, where bilateral military cooperation was discussed. Rodolph Haykal, Commander of the Armed Forces of the Lebanese Republic, also called on the COAS. During the interaction, the global and regional security situation and measures to enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed.
