BNP Chairman and Prime Minister-elect Tarique Rahman, who has got landslide victory in general election in Bangladesh on Sunday, visited the Bashundhara residence area in Dhaka to meet the Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. The both sides expressed interest in working together to steer the country from economic challenges.
Tarique Rahman reached the Bashundhara office of the Jamaat Amir in Dhaka at 8:12 pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile, leaders and activists of both parties were present in front of the office of the Jamaat Amir surrounding Tarique Rahman's arrival. In addition, adequate law enforcement forces were deployed.
Tarique Rahman was accompanied by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan.
The Jamaat Amir was accompanied by the Nayeb-e Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair.
