Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has expressed strong anger over low gas pressure and unavailability in Quetta, Ziarat, Sui and Kalat during severe cold weather, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Chairing a meeting with officials Mir Sarfaraz Bugti ordered Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to take immediate steps to reduce public suffering.
Chief Minister expressed concern over gas accidents, directs to make preventive measures effective.
Ministry of Energy’s limited allocation of gas to Balochistan is a cause of concern, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said.
He said we will write a letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to be aware of the situation.
The CM said people are in great distress and we cannot remain silent.
It is a matter of regret that there are gas problems in Sui from where gas comes out, Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said.
He said women in Sui still cook bread on wood, Chief Minister said.
He said people in Quetta and cold areas are shivering from the cold because gas is not available.
Non-availability of gas for consumers is unacceptable and an immediate solution should be found, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti instructed.
Mir Sarfaraz Bugti giving blunt instructions to official said the gas crisis in Balochistan should be resolved at all costs, the public's problems are well understood and no trick or excuse will work.
