The Motorway Police have temporarily closed sections of major motorways due to dense fog, citing safety concerns for road users.

According to Syed Imran Ahmed, spokesperson for the Motorway Police Central Region, Motorway M3 has been closed from Faizpur to Samundri as visibility dropped to dangerous levels. He said the decision was taken to protect the lives and property of the public amid hazardous driving conditions.

In addition, the Motorway Police have also closed Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin for large vehicles due to the prevailing foggy conditions. Authorities noted that heavy vehicles are particularly vulnerable during low visibility, increasing the risk of accidents.

Syed Imran Ahmed urged road users to strictly follow lane discipline and avoid unnecessary travel during foggy weather. He advised drivers to remain patient, use fog lights where appropriate, and maintain safe distances between vehicles.

The Motorway Police spokesperson further stated that motorways are generally safer for large vehicles during daylight hours, recommending travel between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm when visibility conditions are relatively better.

Motorway Police continue to monitor the situation and have advised commuters to stay updated on road conditions before starting their journeys.
